Freezers, Fillers and Other Injectables

To eliminate deep folds and furrows, hollow cheeks, diminished lips, wrinkles, fine lines and crow’s feet, there are several non-surgical treatments available that are fast, virtually pain-free and long lasting. At Advanced Skin Fitness, we use facial fillers and other injectables such as Dysport®, Botox®, Restylane®, Perlane®, JuveDerm®, and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections to address deep set lines and skin that has lost volume and elasticity. These treatments are highly effective, can be performed within a short time frame and require little to no downtime. After these treatments, patients can return to their daily activities. Some may present mild side effects such as swelling or bruising, but the irritation is only temporary. The results are smoother skin with a more youthful appearance and a quick recovery.

Although the overall objective with any facial injection is to smooth deep wrinkles and fine lines, facial fillers and other injectables are used in different ways to address a multitude issues that arise in the face from the natural aging process. Facial fillers are used to plump up the skin where it has sunken and has lost collagen from aging and/or weight loss. Dysport and Botox are neurotoxins that “freeze” and are used to paralyze the muscle to prevent wrinkles from forming. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) known at other clinics as “**Vampire Facelift®” uses components from your own blood to activate your own stem cells and grow more collagen naturally to improve elasticity and appearance of the skin. They all work well with each other and none of these treatments replaces another. They all have their own purpose and function in aesthetics.

Dysport and Botox

Examples of neurotoxin injectables are Dysport and Botox. Also referred to as “FREEZERS”.

Dysport is a safe, convenient, non-invasive injectable botulin toxin Type A that blocks the nerve impulses to temporarily paralyze the muscles that cause wrinkles and prevent new ones. The technician will inject small amounts of the toxin into the muscles, so the muscles cannot contract and cause the skin to crease over them. Patients should see the muscles steadily relax, making the skin appear smoother. For frown lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles it’s a great alternative to plastic surgery. Patients should see a dramatic reduction of creases in the skin soon after the treatment.

Botox is another treatment that is performed by injecting botulin toxin Type A into the skin to block the nerve impulses. Although the muscles are also temporarily paralyzed to smooth wrinkles and prevent new ones, this treatment does not work as fast as Dysport and it doesn’t last as long as Dysport. This procedure is very similar to Dysport but because of the many advantages including reduced cost, our preference is Dysport.

Facial Fillers

A facial filler is a gel that is injected into the dermal layer of the skin to fill in and smooth areas that have wrinkled, sagged, sunken, or scarred.

Hyaluronic acid is used exclusively at Advanced Skin Fitness because of its safety and efficacy. The fillers contain a smooth consistent gel that re-establish volume to shallow skin. When the skin starts to wrinkle and sag due to aging, water deficiency, sun damage or creasing facial expressions, a facial filler can be a safe and effective solution. Facial fillers help to enhance thin lips, add dimension to shallow cheeks, fill in dark circles and tear troughs around the eyes, smooth folds in the skin and make deep scars look less pronounced. With the proper application, these issues can be minimized and eliminated temporarily to give the skin a dramatically more youthful appearance.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as a “**Vampire Facelift®” in other clinics is a skin repair method that uses a growth factor and the patient’s blood to rejuvenate skin. It’s a non-surgical skin repair system that uses extracted platelets from the patient’s own blood. A nominal amount of blood is taken from the patient and placed in an apparatus that divides the platelets from the blood. The platelets are injected into damaged areas of the skin. Once the platelets are injected “growth factors”, which are proteins that repair damaged tissue, stimulate the cells to build more collagen and smooth out the wrinkles in the skin. The skin will have more volume, elasticity, and a youthful improved texture. The skin will also begin to tighten and become stronger. Platelet Rich Plasma is an excellent choice to combine with Hyaluronic Acid Fillers.
