Stretch Mark Treatments
Advanced Skin Fitness of Dallas offers a large arsenal of Stretch Mark Treatments.
Sudden changes in the body can cause unwanted streaks of uneven pigmentation and texture to develop on the skin. These scars, commonly referred to as stretch marks, are caused by the stretching of the dermis. Rapid growth of the body is normally the reason for the tears in the dermal layer of the skin and can leave lingering discolorations that may fade, but not completely disappear. These stretch marks can appear on various parts of the body and scale in an elongated formation.
At Advanced Skin Fitness, we offer various treatments to help diminish and reshape the surface of the skin, while promoting new collagen growth to support the dermis. This helps the skin to avert further damage and heal the scars. Currently, we offer every treatment available on the market for the treatment of stretch marks. A combination of treatments will offer dramatic results for most patients.
We offer several options and we also address some of the most common questions surrounding the causes of stretch marks and the susceptibility of getting them: What body parts can you get stretch marks on? What do stretch marks look like? Can stretch marks cause health risks? Who gets stretch marks? What are the treatment options for stretch marks?
What body parts can you get stretch marks on?
Stretch marks can appear on various parts of the body from arms to legs, chest and shoulders, even the back and buttocks.
The appearance of stretch marks are common on specific body parts like the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, underarms, buttocks, thighs, hips and back.
What do stretch marks look like?
Stretch marks can appear like purple or red breaks in the skin or they can be lighter in color as well.
Stretch marks usually look recessed into the skin around it. The texture may be more delicate and present as long fine lines. They may be clustered together with other stretch marks. For darker skin, the lines may look like contrasting hues in the skin. The surrounding skin may be dark and the lines that show the stretching in between may be a lighter shade. Often in lighter skin individuals, the inner part of the stretch marks can appear reddish or purple because of the damage to the vascularity of the skin.
Can stretch marks cause health risks?
Stretch marks normally affect the skin and pose no threat to the health of the patient.
Although stretch marks are very common and usually not a health risk, they can cause great detriment to a patient’s self-confidence.
Who gets stretch marks?
The most common occurrence of stretch marks appears in pregnant women, pubescent teens and bodybuilders.
For pregnant women, their skin endures an extensive amount of stretching because of weight gain. Teens experiencing puberty are growing at a rapid rate, so their skin will stretch fast. Because bodybuilders amass muscle bulk quickly, their skin has the tendency to stretch.
What are the treatment options for stretch marks?
Micro Needling with RF, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Pixel Laser Resurfacing, CO2 Laser Resurfacing, JuvaShape Radio Frequency Skin Tightening, PhotoFacial, and Pixel RF Resurfacing.
Although there are topical solutions that treat stretch marks, there has never been one shown to actually work. Our medical resurfacing treatments, skin tightening and pigment reducing treatments are much more effective and offer lasting results. We focus on reshaping the surface of the skin and encouraging new collagen production to fill in the stretch marks from beneath to reveal smooth, healthy skin.
Micro Needling with RF
Micro-needling is a safe and effective way to diminish wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars while also improving collagen and elastin. We use a motorized surgical device activates several sterilized disposable micro-needles to puncture the skin and create the cascade of healing that rejuvenates the skin. Once the needle depth has been adjusted, the tiny piercings cause the production of collagen, which significantly diminishes wrinkles, scarring, and stretch marks. With new advancements in Micro Needling, we are now able to deliver radio frequency energy through the micro-needles offering greater collagen production.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as the Vampire Facelift™, uses the patient’s own blood to deliver their own growth factors to damaged skin. This causes a cascade of healing that creates new elastin and collagen. It dramatically reduces the appearance of stretch marks and can be combined with other treatments such as Micro Needling.
Pixel Laser Resurfacing
Pixel Laser Resurfacing treatment is a skin resurfacing procedure that creates tiny holes in the skin to perforate the outermost layers. This process prompts the skin to naturally heal itself by stimulating the skin to grow new and healthy from the rims of the minuscule holes that have been created in the skin. The Pixel Laser Resurfacing treatment is a fractional procedure very similar to CO2 Laser Resurfacing yet it’s more superficial and only requires around 5 days of recovery.
CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Another laser resurfacing treatment offered at Advanced Skin Fitness is CO2 Laser Resurfacing. Similarly, to Pixel Laser Resurfacing, the CO2 device also creates microscopic holes in the skin. The CO2 procedures go several times deeper into the tissue, often times penetrating near the dermis. CO2 laser resurfacing is fantastic for deeper scars acne as well as texture and skin laxity issues in as few as 1 to 2 treatments.
JuvaShape Skin Tightening
Radio Frequency skin tightening with the Alma JuvaShape device, previously known as Accent XL, the ultimate in non-invasive, no downtime, pain-free skin rejuvenation. The radio frequency handpiece heats the temperature of the skin to about 103 – 105 degrees F. This turns on the fibroblasts in the skin and creates amazing collagen production. Treatments are about 1 hour long, completely pain-free with no recovery, and show results in as few as 3 sessions. Results continue to improve for the next 4 – 6 months.
IPL or Intense Pulsed Light is used in a specific color of light designed to target reds and browns in the skin from sun damage. Broken capillaries or flushing and hyperpigmentation or sun damage can be addressed quickly in as few as 3 – 5 sessions with little or no downtime. Treatments can be performed anywhere on the body such as the face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, and hands.
RF Pixel Resurfacing
RF Pixel Resurfacing is a non-invasive procedure that works to correct scarring due to acne, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, tighten sagging skin, revitalize and rejuvenate skin to a younger more vibrant appearance and contour loose damaged skin. RF Pixel Resurfacing is similar to Pixel Laser Resurfacing except it uses radio frequency energy to create the tiny wounds in the skin and is safe for all skin types including tanned and dark skin.
