ABOUT micro-needling

Micro-needling is a minimally-invasive procedure that tightens the skin, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, while reducing acne scars and discolorations. A rolling device with tiny needles is used during the process to create tiny holes in the skin. Once the holes are generated, the controlled injury triggers the body to respond to the treatment by producing collagen. The collagen production tightens the skin, smoothes wrinkles, adds lost volume and reduces the presence of acne scares, fine lines and stretch marks. Although the skin is punctured, the needles go beneath the skin’s surface, so the skin is not damaged during the procedure.

MICRO-NEEDLING ADDRESSES CONDITIONS SUCH AS

  • Anti-Aging

Anti-aging refers to the delay or reversal of the aging process. Typically skin rejuvenation treatments like micro-needling are used to promote cell renewal and reduce the signs of aging, like wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin.

  • Prevention

Prevention of the appearance of skin damage is the act of hindering or stopping it from occurring. Skin rejuvenation procedures like micro-needling help to stimulate collagen production and prevent premature and further damage.

  • Acne Scarring

Acne scarring is characterized by raised or pitted skin that develops as a result of significant trauma caused by acne.  Scratching or picking at acne can produce lesions that will ultimately result in acne scarring.

  • Fine Lines

With age and sun damage repeated facial expressions like smiling and frowning can develop folds in the skin. These folds will appear as unwanted fine lines around the eyes and mouth and eventually turn into wrinkles and sagging skin.

  • Wrinkles

Folds, ridges or creases occur in the skin with sun exposure and with the natural process of aging. Wrinkles are most prominently found on the face, hands and neck.

  • Loose Skin

Skin begins to hang and sag as it ages or after a significant amount of weight loss. When collagen and elastin production slows down, the skin loses density and elasticity, so it doesn’t back, which results in loose skin.

  • Large Pores

Pores can become enlarged from severe acne and oily skin. The pores also look prominent if blackheads are present in the skin.

  • Skin Texture

Skin texture is associated with how generally smooth and soft the skin is. It also refers to the evenness of the skin’s surface.

  • Exosomes

Exosomes are an all new treatment that has replaced PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to aide in skin rejuvenation and anti-aging.  Micro-Needling with RF is an excellent procedure to combine with any biologic treatment such as Exosomes.

  • Brown Spots

Brown spots are flat specks of discolorations that appear on the skin when there is over production of melanin. Brown spots are usually a result of age and sun exposure.

  • Pigment Issues

Pigment problems or hyperpigmentation can happen when an excess of melanin occurs on the skin. Hyperpigmentation can happen from sun exposure, age appearing as freckles, liver spots or age spots.

  • Collagen Production

Collagen production is the process of cell renewal in the skin. By maintaining and increasing collagen production the skin can stay firm, soft and elastic.

  • Elastin Production

Elastin production is the production of a protein in the body that helps the skin to maintain elasticity and firmness. Elastin allows the skin to bounce back after it’s been stretched or pinched.

  • Rhytids

A rhytid is an alternative term for wrinkles that appear in static and dynamic form on the skin. They develop from the repetition of muscle movements and facial expressions, aging, sun damage and other external factors.

  • Surgical Scars

These types of scars occur when an incision is made during surgery. Surgical scars are often discolored and are raised on the skin.

  • Scars

When the skin is injured from surgery or trauma, a mark may be left as the skin attempts to heal. While the body tries to repair the wound, collagen is produced to restore the tissue damaged from the injury.

  • Skin Tightening

The skin can begin to sag or become loose from age or weight loss. By having skin tightening treatments the skin can become firm, so that excess skin is no longer visible.

  • Radio Frequency Treatments

Radio frequency is used as an aesthetic technique to tighten the skin. The RF energy produces heat that triggers collagen and elastin production, which decreases fine lines and sagging skin.

  • PRP

PRP is short for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP refers to the collection of platelet cells that are drawn from the blood. The red blood cells are removed, which speeds up healing, skin texture and the effectiveness of aesthetic procedures performed to improve the condition of the skin.

  • Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma is the platelet-rich protein that is extracted from the blood and separated to remove red blood cells. It promotes quick healing and a faster response to skin rejuvenation treatments.

  • Crepey Skin

Skin becomes thin and crinkly on large areas of the body. The most vulnerable areas to find crepey skin are the neck, shoulders and back.

HOW Micro-Needling with Radio FrequencY WORKS AND WHAT IT'S FOR

For skin that has wrinkled and sagged as a result of aging or sun exposure, Micro Needling is considered to be one of the most effective, non-invasive, and affordable treatments. The benefits of the procedure are evident through its ability to trigger the production of collagen in the skin. This helps patients regain some of the firmness and elasticity their skin has lost through the years. What makes the treatment even more remarkable is that it diminishes discolorations and scars that have formed from severe acne breakouts and other skin conditions. It’s a very effective treatment for stretch marks as well. It’s a highly requested treatment, but for those who haven’t tried it, there are details they should have, so they can make an informed decision on which method of treatment that will work best for them. What is Micro Needling and how does it work?

Micro Needling is a unique process that uses micro-needles to penetrate the dermis, which helps to dramatically improve the skin without downtime or pain. Although there is a perforation to the skin, there is no damage caused to the dermal layer during the procedure. The patients are extremely satisfied and will normally experience accelerated results when Micro Needling is combined with skin improvement treatments like Platelet Rich Plasma treatment or Radio frequency.

Micro Needling is a minimally-invasive procedure that tightens the skin, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles and reduces acne scars and discolorations while building collagen. The treatment involves using a mechanical device with tiny needles that create tiny holes in the skin. As the holes are made, the controlled injury triggers the body to respond by producing collagen, which tightens the skin, smooths wrinkles, adds lost volume and reduces the presence of acne scars, fine lines, and stretch marks. Because the needles pierce the skin to go beneath the skin’s surface, there is concern that skin will be damaged during the procedure. On the contrary, the dermis is not damaged and the results show overall improvement.

What is Micro Needling with Radio Frequency?

Micro Needling with Radio Frequency is a technique that combines traditional Micro Needling with radio frequency heating that helps smooth out wrinkles, induce collagen and elastin reproduction and eliminate blemishes caused by acne scars dramatically more than with Micro Needling alone. The treatment involves using tiny insulated needles to permeate the skin to a depth that boosts the skin’s ability to generate collagen and heal blemishes. The technician has the ability to control how deep the needles puncture the skin as well as how much heat is applied, and how long the heat is applied, therefore achieving the maximum results. The combination of injury and heat will stimulate the fibroblasts and enter a repairing phase, thus tightening the skin, volumizing the dermis and eliminating the icepick, boxcar and rolling scars caused by atrophic acne. Skin will bounce back quicker, appear thicker and balanced in color without injuring the dermis. Micro Needling may not be safe for patients with current acne, rosacea or psoriasis.

Do the Micro Needling procedures hurt and is there downtime?

No. The Micro Needling procedures are designed to be painless. It requires no surgery, so there’s little to no discomfort. For patients who are a little sensitive, a numbing ointment can be applied to the treatment area. Patients can normally return to their usual activities after the procedures.

Are there side effects that accompany the Micro Needling procedures?

Some individuals may experience a temporary mild inflammation in the treatment area, but it normally clears up soon after the treatment.

How much does Micro Needling cost?

One session can run between $250 and $500 depending on the location of the clinic and how extensive the treatment is.

How long does each Micro Needling session take and how long does it take to see results?

Each session is about 30 – 60 minutes, depending on topical numbing cream, and patients can expect to see results within a few weeks.

How often should the Micro Needling treatment be performed on a patient?
