Exercise is known to be an efficient and effective lifestyle when it comes to improving our overall health. This is most true when it comes to our physical health which makes us strong and look strong! It necessarily includes looking beautiful and fit. However, exercise doesn’t just work positively on the organs, muscles, bones and tissues because it can also greatly influence our skin! The skin is actually the body’s largest organ and exercising regularly can actually improve it!

Increase of Blood Flow

The biggest benefit of the skin when you exercise is it improves the blood flow in your body. When your body undergoes physical activities, the heart pumps faster and harder, increasing the blood flow within your body. And an increased blood flow means more nutrients and oxygen for every cell in your body and of course in your skin. With more nutrients and oxygen in your skin cells, the skin becomes healthier and vibrant. This is very evident when you have just finished exercising and your skin glows. In fact, this glow can last up to many hours!

Decrease in Stress

Stress is the cause of many diseases, illnesses and dermatological problems because of its negative impact on the body and its organs. Skin conditions such as breakouts and inflammations are usually the results of stress. However, stress is also responsible for other things such as rashes, bumps and loss of hair. Fortunately, exercising is an essential key in fighting stress because it can lighten your mood and decrease the level of stress hormones being produced. But it doesn’t stop at enhancing your response to stress as it can enhance your immune system too! As such, exercise is a big stress reliever and skin improver that should be emphasized to a lot of people.

Fighting chance for Skin Aging

Since stress can be lessened and decreased through exercise and exercise can improve the health of the skin through increased blood flow, exercise is a good way to combat signs of aging as well. Exercising increases your chances of slowing down signs of aging and even reversing it because the overall health of the body and the skin are dramatically improved when there is an increase of nutrients and oxygen within the body and there are less stress hormones involved!

While these three are the less commonly known benefits of exercise that you should take note of, it is also important to note that not all types of exercising are beneficial to your skin as some exercises can lead to damage more than healing. Some exercises are also exhaustive which can reverse the benefits instead. As such, it is always important to seek expert opinion first from your doctor or your trainer so as to know what kind of exercises you should be doing and avoiding.
