Two people have been injured after a DARt derailment according to a Dallas Morning News article published on December 19th. In it they say:
“Two passengers were treated for minor injuries after a DART train derailed Saturday afternoon in downtown Dallas. The northbound Orange line train made contact with a southbound Green line train about 1:15 p.m. at the St. Paul Station, according to a DART spokesman. The trains collided at St. Paul and Bryan streets.”
The injured received medical attention and DART officials are coordinating with local authorities to determine the cause of the derailment according to an NBC 5 DFW article published on December 19th. In it they say:
“Two people on one of the trains were taken to Baylor University Medical Center with minor injuries, he said. DART Operations and police are investigating what caused the crash. Shuttle buses are available to take passengers between Victory Station to Deep Ellum Station and from the Pearl/Arts District Station to EBJ Union Station.”
The shuttle service is thankfully unaffected and injuries seem to be minor. Here’s hoping they find out what caused this sudden accident so it can be prevented in the future.
