Micro-needling is a minimally invasive treatment that tightens the skin, minimizes acne scars and discolorations, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. During the procedure, a rolling device covered with tiny needles is used to lightly abrade the skin. This regulated injury stimulates a healing response, the result of which is natural collagen production. Collagen tightens the skin, decreases the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, and stretch marks, and increases volume.

What Is Collagen and Why Is It Important?

Collagen, in conjunction with hyaluronic acid and elastin, is responsible for the skin’s elasticity. When subjected to environmental and lifestyle factors over time, this innate capacity to regenerate and produce new skin cells slows down. Although collagen depletion as we age is impossible to prevent, increasing collagen development ensures cellular repair and regeneration, bolstering your skin’s resistance against premature aging.

What Is The Treatment Good For?

Microneedling is great for reducing wrinkles and fine lines, correcting acne scars, and smoothing out skin texture.

Is It Safe?

Yes, the treatment is  administered by trained, licensed, specialists and the procedures are designed to be painless. Microneedling is minimally invasive and produces little or no discomfort. For patients with sensitive skin, a numbing ointment can be applied prior to treatment. Patients can normally return to their usual activities immediately following the procedure. Some individuals may experience temporary mild inflammation in the treatment area. This typically resolves within several hours.

What Other Procedures Can I Combine With Microneedling?

Micro Needling with Radio Frequency is a combination procedure that includes microneedling in conjunction with RF (radio frequency) heating to smooth wrinkles, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and reduce blemishes from acne scars even more effectively than microneedling alone. The fibroblasts would be activated and enter a healing process as a result of the injury and heat, contracting the skin, volumizing the dermis, and removing the icepick, boxcar, and rolling scars caused by atrophic acne. Without damaging the dermis, skin can bounce back better, look thicker, and have a more balanced tone. Patients with active acne, rosacea, or psoriasis should avoid microneedling.
