In June of this year, Jason Kidd was named the new coach for the Dallas Mavericks and by the end of August, he finalized his new coaching staff. But these aren’t the only new developments for the professional basketball team. Recently, a brand new and grand court design has been built according to a Smoking Cuban article from October 8. In it they report,
“The Dallas Mavericks have added the name of every player who has ever played a game for the franchise on the baseline and sidelines of this new court design.
Fans can see Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, and Luka Doncic, among other names in the photos. Every supporter has a list of personal favorite Mavericks that will be a joy to find on the new court.”
As seen from these photos tweeted by the Dallas Mavericks, the new court design included the names of Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, J. Barea, Luka Doncic and many more.
However, after defeating the LA Clippers on Friday, Coach Jason Kidd wanted his name in the latest court design to be moved after finding it distracting, according to a Dallas Morning News article from October 9 which reports,
“Dallas head coach Jason Kidd thinks the Mavericks’ new floor design, which displays the name of every player in franchise history, is “very cool,” make no mistake.
“It was actually right in front of me,” Kidd told reporters. “I was hoping we could ask someone to move that name somewhere else so I didn’t have to look at it as I sat there.”
After renewing their new coaching staff to support their young core line-up, the Dallas Mavericks also chose to keep Tim Hardaway Jr. and Boban Marjanović. Evidently, the Mavericks are looking good and intimidating with the NBA preseason having just begun.
