Our CoolAdvantage applicators allow us to treat the core, curves, and flat areas. Our CoolAdvantage Plus extra-large applicators allow us to work on the abdomen. We use CoolSmooth for outer thighs, and the CoolMini which is used for double chin, knees, and bra fat. Our ability to offer the right application for the right fat loss issue means our CoolSculpting treatments show better results in less time than original CoolSculpting applications.

Velashape 3 Cellulite Reduction

Cellulite is a condition that affects at least 80% of females and is not solely caused by poor diet, weight gain, or inactivity. In fact cellulite is a generic condition in which the fiberous collagen bands that hold the skin in place form small pockets. Inside these pockets are fat tapped cells that were deposited here either in the mother’s womb or sometime before the placement of fat cells become permanent at adolescents. These pockets of fat become enlarged either from puberty, birth control, fluctuations in weight, pregnancy, or menopause and hormonal changes. Once these fat cells become enlarged they cut off the circulation and impair the lymphatic system resulting in the dimpling we see as cellulite. Once cellulite appears it’s almost impossible to reduce through diet and exercise.

Velashape was the first device to receive FDA clearance for the treatment of cellulite and later received FDA clearance for the temporary circumferential reduction of the thighs. Velashape 3 is the latest version and the device we use at Advanced Skin Fitness Plano. Through vacuum, massage, radio frequency energy, and infrared light we are able to manipulate the tissue and increase circulation and lymphatic drainage therefore reducing cellulite.  

Although not FDA cleared for skin tightening specifically, our patients report a dramatic improvement in the elasticity of the skin post treatment. This is because the radio frequency energy is bi-polar just like the skin tightening devices and deliver energies and heating of the tissue similarly. Treatments are initially performed weekly in sessions that last about 45 minutes long. There is no recovery although some patients experience slight bruising in the beginning. The treatments are comfortable and many patients find it relaxing.

Not only is Velashape 3 fantastic for cellulite and circumferential reduction, but it’s also great for detoxing and removing the trapped toxins from fat cells and stimulating the lymphatic system. After the initial 8-10 sessions patients must continue monthly or 6 week interval treatments to maintain results. There is no permanent treatment for cellulite at this time.

Ultherapy

Ultrasound is the latest way to tighten the lift the brow, upper face, lower face, neck, and chest. The only FDA cleared treatment utilizing ultrasound for skin tightening is Ultherapy. At Advanced Advanced Skin Fitness in Plano we offer the latest generation in Ultherapy which offers little to no downtime yet yields results similar to surgical facelifts. This is accomplished by hearing the sub dermal collagen to s temperature in which microscopic injuries are created. Next the body turns on its healing processes to create new collagen and to restore the elasticity and firmness of more youthful skin. The collagen takes about 3 – 6 months to show peek results. Because we are not injecting collagen we have to allow it time to grow much like your hair, nails, and lashes.

Ultherapy is typically performed in one treatment although for some areas we recommend a series of 3 treatments. Ultrasound works much better than traditional radio frequency treatments such as Thermagen or Venus Freeze because it heats to a higher temperature comfortably because ultrasound bypasses the dermis.  

Ultherapy is usually performed on individuals wanting to tighten and firm around the jowls, treat the embarrassing rings around the neck that form as we age, treat the common turkey neck also associated with aging, lines around the eyes and mouth, hooded and drooping eyes and more.

Ultherapy is a comfortable treatment but any discomfort a sensitive patient might experience is managed with ibuprofen and topical numbing cream. This procedure is excellent to use as preventive anti-aging but is also a good option for individuals who have neglected their skin and need a more aggressive approach. Common candidates are 35 – 65 years old.

Clear + Brilliant

Some of the common skin problems that many people complain about are texture, large pores, and discoloration or melasma. Most of the treatments in the past involved invasive laser resurfacing procedures with many days or weeks of recovery. Clear + Brilliant has set new standard of skin treatments offering amazing results with minimal or no recovery at all. Clear and Brilliant offers a way to gently smooth the skin, even out brown spots and discoloration while offering a youthful glow by a gentle laser resurfacing. Immediately after treatment the patient will feel warm and will appear to have a sun burn. The next day the face will feel rough to the touch but will appear normal. After about 5 days the dead skin cells will disappear leaving what feels and appears to be fresh new skin.

DermaFrac

DermaFrac is the latest way to infuse serums into the skin by puncturing tiny holes in the skin under vacuum, thereby forcing the serum into the skin without the traditional waste of the product running off the skin or being absorbed by treatment supplies such as gauze. This procedure is called micro channeling and is very similar to micro needling except it doesn’t puncture as deep, so no topical numbing is required. DermaFrac offers a variety of serums such as vitamin c to fight free radicals from the environment, kojic acid which is a natural skin lightening product, hyaluronic acid (HA) to restore hydration and volume to the skin, and several other collagen boosters and growth factor serums for anti-aging. At Advanced Skin Fitness we also use DermaFrac to infuse your bodies very own growth factors using platelet rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate collagen, renew the cells, reduce pigmentation issues and give the skin an overall more youthful appearance.

Microneedling With and Without Radio Frequency

Microneedling addresses skin issues associated with age and sun. Wrinkles, sagging and loose skin can be noticeably improved without surgery with Microneedling. Adding Radio Frequency to microneedling boosts results in some cases for wrinkles, collagen and elastin production and reduction of blemishes caused by acne scars. Micrnneedling triggers healing with youthful effect. No daily treatment or cream can compare.

HydraFacial

HydraFacial is a safe, highly effective multi-step chemical peel process skin resurfacing. Our aesthetic technicians use a serum to remove dead skin layers after which follows a GlyCal peel finished with a dermal vacuuming tool. The procedure is supplemented with a rich proprietary antioxidant, peptides and hyaluronic acid serum to maintain moisture and elasticity.

Dramatic transformations can be experienced with only 6 treatments every two weeks. Some patients return monthly to maintain the results. HydraFacial is a fast, painless, and safe way to dramatically improved skin.

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening  

As we age our skin loses its firmness and elasticity because of the loss of collagen. We stop readily producing collagen around age 35. In order to maintain firm youthful skin on the face and body, we must begin collagen stimulation treatments. It’s best to start early and prevent the loss of collagen rather than trying to repair significantly loose skin which can be more costly and less effective.  Radio Frequency (RF) skin tightening is one of the easiest and most economical way way to keep your body producing collagen. Radio Frequency makes the water molecules in the skin vibrate. The vibration creates friction and this friction causes heat in the dermis of the skin. In reaction to this heat, some physiological processes take place and the fibroblasts begin to make new collagen. The best thing about radio frequency skin tightening besides the new youthful collagen is that there is absolutely no downtime or recovery. The treatment is very comfortable, often being compared to a hot stone massage. Collagen takes time to grow so it will take 3 – 6 months to see full results. People often ask how long skin tightening with Radio Frequency (RF) will last. The collagen is yours and will not wear off like a Botox injection. However we are not freezing the aging process so these new collagen fibers will die eventually from free radicals in the skin. It’s best to maintain radio frequency skin tightening treatments every 3 – 4 months after a satisfactory result has been achieved. Initial radio frequency skin tightening treatments are usually performed in a series of 6 sessions spaced about 2 – 3 weeks apart. Some of the devices available for radio frequency are vShape, Venus Freeze, Thermage, Accent XL, and BTL Elixis. At Advanced Skin Fitness Plano we utilize vShape for radio frequency skin tightening however we also offer Ultherapy ultrasound which is FDA cleared for brow lifting and lifting and tightening of the lower face, jowls, and neck. Pixel Laser Resurfacing

Fractional laser resurfacing has been around for 15 years now. Fractional laser resurfacing took the extensive recovery out of laser resurfacing by burning tiny holes in the skin which heal fast as opposed to removing the entire top layer of skin at one time which took months to heal. At Advanced Skin Fitness Plano we utilize the Pixel by Alma Lasers, a fractional resurfacing device that works better and yields more impressive results than the Halo or  Fraxel. The Pixel Laser treats acne scars, large pores, rough texture, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles and stimulates collagen. This is achieved by firing a grid of tiny laser beams that leaves a square pattern of tiny holes on the skin. Depending on the severity of the damage we may do multiple stacks and multiple passes with more or less overlap. Our laser resurfacing treatments are customized to the patients needs and skin type. The patient will be instructed to use specific skin care products for proper healing and will recover completely in 5 – 7 days.

Blue LED Light for Acne Treatment

Blue LED light is one of the most amazing, drug free, chemical free, natural treatments for acne and we are proud to offer this acne treatment in our Plano location of Advanced Skin Fitness. Under the comfort of a peaceful, warming LED light we can effectively kill the bacteria deep in the sebaceous glands that causes acute and chronic acne break outs. Although it is effective for cystic acne more treatments and often the use of Levulan of 5-amino levulanic acid or chemical peels may be added. We can treat active acne on the face, neck, shoulders, back and chest. It can be used for adult acne, teenage acne, hormonal acne, acne caused from puberty, or just the occasional breakouts one might experience from for instance wearing s heavy sunblock on a vacation. The treatments take about 30 minutes and can be performed as often as desired. We typically recommend a series of 10 sessions spaced 2 times per week until the acne is under control. Then one treatment every 2 – 4 weeks should keep the acne at bay. Medical strength Salicylic Acid and Hydra facials are great adjunct treatments to be used with Blue Light

Photo Dynamic Therapy or PDT is another way to utilize blue light. In this procedure we apply a topical solution called Levulan. The Levulan attaches itself to the oil glands and the bacteria in the skin. It’s allowed to “incubate” for 1 to 4 hours in which during that time the skin becomes very very photo sensitive. Next the blue light is applied and it intensifies the reaction from the blue light and reduces oil production for two years typically by shrinking the oil gland like accutane but without the harsh side effects of an oral medication. Three treatments are performed 3 weeks apart for photo dynamic therapy with Levulan and Blue LED light. The patient must commit to stay indoors out of the sun for 48 hours post procedure or there will be an intense sun reaction that could cause complications.

Photofacial

Photofacials use intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat spots, freckles, rosacea, hyper-pigmentation, flushing, spider veins, and more. Photofacials are powerful and the effects are long lasting. PRP for Skin or “Vampire Facial”

One of the latest advancements in skin rejuvenation has been the application of Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP as well as the many methods of PRP delivery to the tissue. Advanced Skin Fitness was one of the first clinics in Dallas and Plano to offer this therapy. Since 2009 when we first started providing platelet rich plasma, we have offered every method of delivery from injections combined with hyaluronic acid, application with a dermal roller, later advancing to application with micro needling, application after CO2 laser resurfacing, and now we infuse PRP with DermaFrac which eliminates all of the waste so that none of this anti-aging serum runs off the face during treatment. Platelet Rich Plasma or Vampire Facial promotes skin rejuvenation by tricking the skin into thinking it’s had an injury. These platelets are what causes new skin to grow in the case of skin injury. Now we can infuse it into the skin with no injury to give amazing no downtime results or we can add it to an clinical injury such as CO2 to give faster recovery and better results. PRP is commonly used on the face, neck, chest, and hands to offer a natural treatment with noticeable results.  It takes about an hour to perform the procedure and as with all collagen stimulating treatments full results are seen in 3 – 6 months. It is recommended to perform a series of three treatments 6 weeks apart. The platelets stay active in the skin for about 12 months so yearly maintenance treatments are recommended. Platelet Rich Plasma treatments or Vampire Facials can safely be performed as often as the patient desires. The more platelets that are delivered the better the results will be.

Hand Rejuvenation

Nothing can be more frustrating for a woman than the appearance of her hands. Our hands experience aging sometimes faster than the face because they often receive more sun exposure and women tend to have a lot of volume loss making the hands look some what like that of a skeleton. Because we want to keep the face, neck, and hands looking as close in age as possible often we must perform a procedure called hand rejuvenation. Dr Holly Barko, MD at Advanced Skin Fitness Plano is an expert at hand rejuvenation. First she replaces the volume loss with a filler, typically Radiesse which is the number one choice for filler in the hands. Next one of our experienced laser technicians will perform photo facial or photo rejuvenation to eliminate brown spots and liver spots. Lastly we will incorporate your own growth factors from your very own blood using platelet rich plasma (PRP) to rejuvenate the tissue and make it more youthful and radiant again while also stimulating collagen production. On the hands we deliver the platelet rich plasma also know Vampire Facial through a treatment called DermaFrac. DermaFrac places the platelets and growth factors at the exact depth for optimal skin rejuvenation. The results are healthy looking, youthful beautiful hands that you will be excited to show off. There could be some slight bruising after the filler portion of the treatment. The brow spots will turn dark and crusty after the treatment and will slough off in 5 or so days.
