Richardson will be conducting an art contest to showcase local talent and help the liven up the community by designing traffic signal boxes according to a Dallas Morning News article<\/a> from January 15 which reports, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAn art contest by the city of Richardson and the Richardson Kiwanis Club is seeking five original wildflower-themed designs that will be featured as vinyl wraps on traffic signal boxes at intersections throughout the community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artists that live in Richardson and students attending a school within Richardson are eligible to enter, the city announced.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contest\u2019s goal is to feature local artists, help beautify the city and increase community pride.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cArt installations are a meaningful part of our city\u2019s identity, and the designs selected from our traffic signal box art contest will share visually engaging artwork created by Richardson artists that honor our community and welcome visitors,\u201d Assistant City Manager Shanna Sims-Bradish said in a statement. \u201cOur wildflowers contest theme provides a significant connection to the upcoming spring season and Richardson\u2019s well-known, vibrant floral displays in parks and medians each year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional guidelines and rules for the design to be submitted were posted on the city\u2019s website<\/a> wherein it says, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
