ABOUT microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that improves the texture of the skin by shedding the dead outer layer of the skin and thoroughly clearing clogged pores. It’s an exfoliation process that significantly reduces wrinkles, fine lines, leathery skin, brown spots, clogged and enlarged pores, acne scarring, imbalanced pigmentation and crows feet around the eyes. The process helps to accelerate blood flow so that collagen will begin to grow naturally, firm and tighten the skin. The skin will become more elastic and the texture of the skin will be much smoother with more balanced pigment.

MICRODERMABRASION IS COMMONLY USE FOR:

  • Rough skin

The texture of the skin is unusual dry, scaly or patchy. This can happen when there is a build up of excess dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.

  • Exfoliation

A procedure that improves the texture of the skin by removing old dead skin cells from the outermost surface. This is a technique that is used during microdermabrasion.

  • Skin care

When a skin care product has not been absorbed by the skin cells, the glands can absorb the product. Subsequently, the substance could be released into the bloodstream.

What is DermaSweep Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that improves the texture of the skin by shedding the dead outer layer of the skin and thoroughly clearing clogged pores.

It’s an exfoliation process that significantly reduces wrinkles, fine lines, leathery skin, brown spots, clogged and enlarged pores, acne scarring, imbalanced pigmentation and crow’s feet around the eyes. It’s highly effective at combating the effects of aging and external factors.  In some cases, DermaSweep MD can eliminate the damage, depending on how many sessions are performed and the intensity of each treatment.  The process helps to accelerate blood flow so that collagen will begin to grow naturally, firm and tighten the skin.  The skin will become more elastic and the texture of the skin will be much smoother with more balanced pigment.

How does DermaSweep Microdermabrasion work?

DermaSweep MD is a non-invasive treatment that uses tiny bristles to gently remove dead skin cells on the skin’s surface to reveal healthier, smoother, firmer skin underneath.

It works by using vacuum to gently lift the skin and exfoliate it with fine bristles.  Using the DermaSweep MD will eliminate the residue that remains after the exfoliation process with older crystal systems.  The skin is rejuvenated once the dead skin cells are removed.  Clogged pores are suctioned, which in turn increases blood flow and promotes the formation of collagen.

Patients can have further customization with a choice of different wands and bristle tips for optimal microdermabrasion effectiveness.

What areas can be treated with DermaSweep MD Microdermabrasion?
DermaSweep MD is most commonly used on the face, neck, and chest but there are other areas like the arms, back, and legs can also be treated with the body wand.

Although there are areas of the body besides the face, neck, and chest that can be professionally treated with DermaSweep MD, there are certain areas that should be avoided.  The treatment should not be performed on your feet, ears or eyelids.  The skin on these parts of the body is so thin and sensitive, that it may not be able to withstand the abrasion.

How long is the DermaSweep Microdermabrasion procedure?

The procedure can normally be performed within 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how intense the treatment is.

Is DermaSweep MD painful?

DermaSweep MD is a non-invasive, pain free procedure.

It’s a non-surgical treatment, so patients don’t feel any pain from lacerations to the skin.  Patients may feel a cool sensation during the session, but it’s not irritating to the skin.

Is there downtime with DermaSweep MD?

There is no downtime with DermaSweep MD.

DermaSweep MD does not require the skin to do any extensive healing afterward, so the patient can resume their daily activities and even apply makeup or other cosmetics right after the procedure.

How many treatments are required to see results with DermaSweep MD?
Patients will see an immediate improvement after the first or second treatment.

The skin will appear smoother after the initial procedure, but for maximum results it’s recommended that a patient has between 5 to 8 treatments that can be spaced a week and a half apart.  Most patients opt to have treatments every 4-6 weeks to maintain the best results.

Can DermaSweep MD be used for all skin types?

DermaSweep MD can be used for all skin types including darker skin patients.

Patients with darker skin are safe to get the procedure, but the microdermabrasion procedure should be gently performed. Aggressive microdermabrasion may cause the skin to darken.

Are there side effects with DermaSweep MD?

Some patients may experience some minor irritations after the procedure.

Most patients don’t experience any discomfort after the treatment, but some have noticed some redness, which dissipates in a few days.  Others have had dry flaking skin due to the DermaSweep MD. It also clears up in a few days.  Itchy skin is another temporary condition post treatment.

How much does Microdermabrasion cost?

The average cost of the treatment is between $100 – $250.
