DALLAS ULTHERAPY SKIN TIGHTENING & CONTOURING

ABOUT ULTHERAPY

Ultherapy is an FDA approved non-invasive cosmetic treatment for lifting and tightening the skin on the neck, chin and brow. The procedure involves using an ultrasound to promote new collagen growth that occurs when the deepest layer of the skin is penetrated and heated with ultrasound frequency. Over a three to six month span the lifting and tightening of the skin will become more and more apparent. This method helps to create contours on the face and increase collagen production, so the face and neck are tight, smooth and younger looking.

ULTHERAPY BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS

  • Deep Heating

When ultrasound energy is used to heat skin tissue in the deepest layer of the skin to trigger collagen production. Ultherapy is a non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound to combat the effects of aging and sun damage.

  • Collagen Stimulation

Treatment that triggers the production of collagen through ultrasound energy. An ultrasound is used to deliver heat to multiple depths of the skin to promote collagen growth, which tightens the skin and adds more volume.

  • Brow Lift

A brow lift refers to a procedure that reverses the effects of aging by lifting the eyebrows, along with the forehead. The soft tissue of the forehead is tightened to give the face a more contoured youthful appearance.

  • Saggy Eyes

The eyes may develop a mild swelling or puffiness with age. The surrounding tissue can begin to weaken resulting in puffy eyelids.

  • Saggy Skin

The skin loses its firmness and begins to loosen and wrinkle during the natural aging process. Significant weight loss can also result in saggy skin.

  • Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet are the fine lines that form around the eyes as people begin to age or experience sun damage. They’re also referred to as laugh lines and appear as wrinkles because of collagen and elastin loss.

  • Hooded Eyes

Hooded eyes result in the drooping of an extra layer of skin over the eye. The crease happens over the outer corner of the eyes, which makes them appear droopy.

  • Loose Skin

Loose skin is skin that has begun to significantly sag because of age or weight loss. The production of collagen and elastin production begins to slow down, so the skin isn’t as firm and elastic as it once was.

  • Collagen Production

When collagen is naturally produced in the skin to increase volume and firmness. Procedures like Ultherapy can trigger collagen production, so it tightens skin and smooths wrinkles.

  • Jowls

The sagging skin that has become slack around the cheeks, lower jaws and neck. The excess skin that develops is also referred to as a dewlap.

  • Turkey Neck

A turkey neck refers to the lax skin that sags beneath the chin. The name derives from the resemblance of a turkey’s wattle and develops with age.

  • Neck Firming

The process of lifting and tightening loose and sagging skin on the neck and beneath the chin. Ultherapy is a treatment that firms up and contours the neck.

  • Chest Firming

A treatment that tightens the skin that has wrinkled in the chest area. The skin begins to lose elasticity on the chest, which makes the skin sag and droop.

  • Ultra sound Skin Tightening

A non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound energy to tighten the skin. Ultherapy is a treatment that involves the use of an ultrasound to promote collagen production to firm up the skin.

  • Skin Lifting

A process that strengthens the skin from the deepest layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. Once more collagen is produced sagging skin will begin to tighten.

  • Skin Toning

A non-invasive procedure that tightens skin that has begun to sag from aging or damage from sun exposure. Ultrasound waves are used to lift and tone the skin with the generation of new collagen in the chin and neck.

  • Décolleté Tightening

A non-invasive procedure that tightens the skin in the chest area. Ultrasound waves are delivered to deep layers of the skin to promote the production of new collagen.

  • Crepey Skin

Skin that appears as dry, thin and wrinkly mostly on the neck, back and shoulders. Crepey skin usually develops as people age and is noticeably more fragile.

Ultherapy® is the ONLY FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that lifts and tightens the neck, chin, and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the chest.” – Ulthera Inc.

In addition to neck, chin, brow, and chest, Advanced Skin Fitness of Dallas has adapted Ultherapy to address additional problem areas and has successfully used Ultherapy® to treat cellulite.

When the skin begins to loosen, especially around the eyes, chin, and neck, it’s called laxity, which means that it’s losing elastin and collagen. This is normally a result of natural aging and gravity although at times the elastin and collagen fibers may deteriorate prematurely due to other factors like a vitamin deficiency, drastic weight loss, smoking, environmental toxins, stress, genetics and sun exposure.

When this happens, it can be quite distressing. So distressing, in fact, that many people in the past, have turned to painful surgical facelifts to tighten the skin. Fortunately, due to recent technological advancements, such drastic methods are no longer necessary to achieve drastic results. Now there are non-surgical solutions like Ultherapy that offer much safer and less painful skin tightening. Ultherapy is an FDA approved non-invasive cosmetic treatment for lifting and tightening the skin on the neck, chin, and brow. The procedure involves using ultrasound frequency to promote new collagen growth. This occurs as a result of your body’s own regenerative response when the deepest layer of the skin is penetrated and heated with ultrasound frequency.

Over a three to six month span, the lifting and tightening of the skin will become more and more apparent. You might even feel like you are aging in reverse. At Advanced Skin Fitness, each treatment can be performed quickly, so it doesn’t interfere with your schedule. Ultherapy is non-invasive and non-surgical which means that no incisions need to be made. This allows you to return to your daily activities following the procedure. Because it’s a different technique than much other skin lifting and skin tightening procedures, there are some common questions that patients have.

How does the Ultherapy procedure work?

Ultherapy uses ultrasound frequency to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin, which triggers new collagen growth over time.

By using ultrasound waves the technician can examine the tissue and makeup of the depths of the skin’s surface. The technician can see an image of the area, which is reflected on a screen so he/she can specifically target the damaged areas with the heat energy. This image of the individual patient’s skin is what makes Ultherapy so unique. Every patient has a unique depth of skin, therefore, the depth of the elastin and collagen will vary between each individual. With Ultherapy we can control the exact depth of the applied heat, therefore, heating the deep layers of the connective tissue rather than the shallow areas of the dermis and epidermis. This method helps to create contours on the face and increase collagen production so the face and neck become tight, smooth, and younger looking.

Am I  a good candidate for Ultherapy?

Almost anyone who is experiencing noticeable skin laxity is a good candidate for Ultherapy.

When the eyebrow begins to lower and the skin sags on the eyelids, chin, and neck, Ultherapy is a safe treatment for this person. People who are 30 and older will usually have laxity in some mild form.

Can Ultherapy Replace a Facelift Procedure?

Ultherapy is not a replacement for a facelift procedure. However, Ultherapy can produce noticable and sometimes dramatic possitive changes in appearance.

Ultherapy will not duplicate facelift surgery. It’s an alternative for those who want to firm their loose skin, but the procedure is not as extreme as a facelift. Ultherapy is, however, a great way to maintain the investment you have made in your facelift. With regular Ultherapy treatments, you can make the results of your facelift surgery last many years longer.

Can men have the Ultherapy treatment done?

Ultherapy is just as effective as men. Men and women both experience skin laxity from aging and environmental factors as women, so the effects are similar. And because more men are choosing cosmetic procedures to improve their appearance, more men are likely to opt for Ultherapy as a treatment for their loose skin. Men also tend to prefer treatments with less recovery and Ultherapy usually has mild redness and minimal swelling for a few hours to a few days.

How does Ultherapy differ from vShape, Venus Freeze and Thermage?

One major difference is that vShape, Venus Freeze and Thermage use radio frequency to deliver heat energy into the skin for collagen production.

The Ultherapy technology uses ultrasound to bypass the skin, therefore reaching higher temperatures to expedite collagen production and contours on the skin. Ultherapy can reach temperatures as high as 65 c versus 42-43 c with the radiofrequency treatments.

How long does the Ultherapy procedure take?

The Ultherapy procedure takes about 30 -45 minutes for each treatment.

Is the Ultherapy treatment painful?

No. The Ultherapy does not involve pain, but an over the counter NSAID such as ibuprofen can be used to alleviate any possible discomfort.

Ultherapy is considered to be a comfortable procedure, but the threshold of discomfort is different for each patient. Most patients classify the procedure as a tolerable sensation that is most intense when the ultrasound energy is being delivered. Before it gets too uncomfortable, your technician will use distraction techniques to distract the patient away from the ultrasound pulse. You will be surprised at how easy the Ultherapy treatment is to complete.

How many treatments does the Ultherapy take?

Patients should notice results after one treatment, but the maximum results should be evident in three to six months.

The severity of the skin laxity will determine how many treatments the patient needs to tighten the skin and achieve their desired results, but over a three to six month period the patient should see the skin begin to firm and contour.

How long does the Ultherapy treatment last?

The effects of the treatment can last up to a year or longer. After the first three to six months after the procedure, patients should see new collagen growth for up to about a year, depending on the patient, their aging process and the environmental factors they may be exposed to. We reset your baseline of collagen, therefore, it doesn’t disappear in a year like a filler does. Once the skin begins to loosen because of the natural aging process, touch-up Ultherapy treatments are recommended. Typically a touch up is repeated every 12 months to maintain the production of collagen.

Is there downtime after the Ultherapy treatment?

Ultherapy does not require downtime after the treatment. Patients shouldn’t expect to experience any downtime after having the Ultherapy procedure. Most can resume their everyday activities. If a patient needed to take some downtime after the treatment, it shouldn’t be more than a couple of days. Even this is very rare.

Are there any side effects with the Ultherapy procedure?

Mild tenderness may occur in the patient, depending on their individual reaction to the treatment.

Patients may notice slight redness immediately after having the treatment, which may last no more than an hour. Others may experience minor temporary swelling or tingling.
