Botox
The Classic Choice
- Most well-known and established neurotoxin.
- Typically used to treat dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
- Results usually last around 3-4 months.
Botox has been in use the longest and has the biggest body of research. It is a well tolerated and predictable toxin.
Dysport
A Faster, Better Alternative (for some)
- Contains a smaller molecule size compared to Botox, which may lead to faster onset of action.
- Often preferred for treating larger areas like the forehead due to its spreadability.
- Often results in a softer, more natural look particularly in larger treatment areas.
- Results may last a similar duration to Botox.
Dysport has a superb reputation as the leading competitor to Botox. The protein formulation of Dysport allows for a larger and quicker diffusion. Dysport may be best in some cases where there a less targeted need.
Jeuveau
The Newest Mainstream Tox
- The newest neurotoxin on the market.
- Marketed as having a “newer” technology compared to Botox and Dysport.
- Results are reported to be similar in duration to Botox and Dysport.
- Potentially lower cost due to potency
Jeuveau is more similar to Botox than Dysport. It is more targeted than Dysport. Being the most refined product, it is slightly more potent per unit. The most commonly observed benefit to Jeuveau is that it seems to have the fastest onset though, the difference may only be a couple of days. Some patients report Jeuveau causes them to feel a little less stiff compared to Botox.

Katerina has joined ASF as an advanced certified aesthetic nurse injector. She is certified in providing injectables, medical aesthetics, anti-aging and wellness medicine. Katerina is a board certified Registered Nurse and obtained her degree from the Dallas College of Nursing.
Her love for people and all things beauty related led her to the field of medical aesthetics. Katerina is an advocate for her patients and always has their best interest at heart. Her extreme attention to detail allows her to customize a unique, individual plan for each patient.

Neurotoxin injections target the frontalis muscle responsible for horizontal lines, resulting in smoother skin by reducing muscle activity. They are particularly effective for dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movements, preventing new wrinkles from forming. Neurotoxin can even be effective in treating static forehead lines.
Neurotoxin injections target the nasalis muscle, which causes horizontal lines on the nose, resulting in smoother skin by reducing muscle activity.
Neurotoxin injections lift drooping eyebrows by reducing the downward pull of the orbicularis oculi and procerus muscles, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Neurotoxin injections correct a gummy smile by targeting the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi (LLSAN), levator labii superioris (LLS), and zygomaticus minor muscles that cause excessive elevation of the upper lip, achieving a more balanced smile.
Neurotoxin injections relax the mentalis muscle to smooth out dimples or puckering on the chin, improving skin texture.
