Does Testosterone Therapy mean a Lower Risk for Heart disease?

Who says age is nothing but a number? Well, when it comes to testosterone it most certainly is. In fact the older a man gets, the more his testosterone levels decline, which means other vital male functions start to wane in the negative. This goes to show women aren’t the only ones who experience “a change of life” after a certain age. Once men pass the age of 35, they can be subject to diminishing muscle tone, more weight gain, lethargy, weakness, longer recovery after exercise, irritability, depression, insomnia, sexual dysfunction and decreased libido. Some classify it as male menopause or andropause.

This is one of those facts of life that many men aren’t aware of, because of the gradual progression of symptoms. They’re often embarrassed or too proud to admit what they’re experiencing, so they remain silent on the matter. But could this stage of life be dangerous to their heart? The answer is yes. There have been studies linking low testosterone in men to a higher risk of heart disease. So it’s important to raise testosterone levels after they have started to naturally decline. Hey guys, don’t be embarrassed. It happens to men all over.

The truth is the US Veterans Affairs performed a recent study of low testosterone in men and how testosterone therapy affected their risk of heart attacks. Out of over 83000 men with low testosterone, the men who had participated in testosterone replacement therapy had a lower risk of heart attacks or strokes as compared to men who had not had testosterone replacement therapy.

There have been other studies that suggest otherwise, particularly one done back in 2013. Males with preexisting heart conditions were given testosterone therapy to counteract their risk for a heart attack. After receiving testosterone therapy, a larger percent of the men had heart attacks as opposed to ones who did not receive testosterone therapy. This does not prove that the testosterone therapy caused the heart episodes. These men were already at risk and inevitably succumbed to the dangerous conditions of their disease, which were heart attacks and strokes.

At Advanced Skin Fitness we are experts in male hormone replacement therapy to raise testosterone levels and help restore muscle tone, strength and sexual performance. With a healthy testosterone level you can lower your risk for heart disease and have an overall healthier lifestyle.
