Drinking plenty of water has been an old practice dating way back in time. It has been practiced for so long even until present because water has always been essential; to our bodies. And being hydrated is highly beneficial not only to the body but also to the skin as well as it can remove toxins, increase elasticity, moisturize and prevent acne. However, drinking plenty of water every day can be a little colorless and flavorless. While most people prefer to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, there are other drinks that can be taken to add a little color and flavor to our daily lives. Luckily, these drinks can be taken without entirely compromising the health of our skin. 

  1. Coconut Water

A naturally refreshing drink found in young green coconuts, Coconut Water is known for making your skin healthy and radiant. This is because it is full of different healthy properties such as Calcium, Potassium and Vitamin C which can moisturize your skin. Not just that, Coconut Water also contains Vitamin B and Magnesium which can brighten and smoothen your skin, making it look younger and fresher. What’s amazing is that you can have these benefits and more without compromising your blood sugar.

  1. Green Tea

Teas are generally ideal drinks for our skin. This is because they contain antioxidants that have the ability to boost recovery and repair of skin that have been damaged either by the sun or free radicals. Additionally, just like water, the antioxidants in the tea can also improve your skin’s elasticity because it gets rid of toxins and free radicals. 

  1. Fruit and Vegetable Juices

Some sweet alternative and healthy drinks come from fruits and vegetables when they are turned to juices. These include apple juice, carrot juice, pomegranate juice, tomato juice and more! Since fruits and vegetables are naturally healthy, they can help our skin become healthy without losing their beneficial properties. The most common properties found in these are Vitamin C which can hydrate the skin and even help with collagen production. 

While these drinks and juices are fun and tasty to drink, it is important to remember that they cannot entirely be a substitute for water. As such, it is recommended to not take these drinks very frequently as too much of them may result in complications and other problems. However, these drinks are still healthy when taken with care and proportions. Do consult with doctors and experts regarding drinks that are suitable for you and your skin.
