This grandma still has her killer aim. An 80-year-old shot a buck from her kitchen window according to a Dallas Morning News article published on December 5th. In it they say:
“Texas’ 2020-21 white-tailed deer season is still young. Not surprisingly, there already have been some remarkable bucks taken by hunters across the state. With the meat of the rut still ahead in some regions and lots of holiday hunting traffic sure to come, it’s a safe bet plenty more will surface before the season’s end. Virginia Luce’s 11-pointer isn’t the biggest buck reported from eastern Texas this season, but the story behind her Houston County whopper is arguably one of the most refreshing to come down the pike in quite a while.”
Luce was making lunch when she spotted the buck, and apparently, she always keeps a rifle within arm’s reach according to an article from Country Rebel. In it they say:
“Luce told Dallas News, ‘I do all my hunting from the house now. My kitchen is my deer stand. We take the screen off one of the windows every fall. I can see a pretty good ways from there.’
She always keeps her gun nearby in case she sees a buck and on November 8th – as she was fixing lunch – she saw what she thought was a buck, but needed her binoculars to confirm it. Lo and behold, it was. So she grabbed her rifle and fired one shot.”
It’s nice to see that anyone can get in on hunting season no matter what age, and no matter where apparently.
