What’s a PDO Thread Lift?
PDO (polydioxanone) thread is a soft and malleable suture that the body absorbs over time. A PDO Thread Lift is a completely non-surgical procedure that uses these threads to minimize skin laxity. The treatment makes the body produce more collagen at the point of application, adding additional protection, structure, and elasticity to the face. The outcome is a little more nuanced than a surgical facelift and looks more natural without the excessive cost and healing time associated with surgery.
What Is The Procedure Like?
For starters, our trained professionals figure out which areas of your skin will be the points of application. They do this by examining the distribution of skin and fat on the forehead, which necessitates a detailed knowledge of how the muscles interact. After this, they will trace out the lines where the PDO Threads will be inserted. The number of threads needed for your treatment varies from patient to patient.
Very small incisions, just wide enough for the threads, will be made at each area of application. They will use special blunt-end tools to do this to avoid wounding in scarring of your skin. These incisions are so small that they look like tiny dots during treatment and are completely undetectable after healing.
What Happens After The Procedure?
Effects build up with each procedure and the total treatment time will reach 18 months. Since, over time, the body will absorb the PDO threads, they work has to be redone to maintain your new look.
