There are a ton of Earth Day Events you can participate in this year right here in Dallas. If you want to appreciate nature in all its glory, the Dallas Arboretum is the place for you according to a Fort Worth Star-Telegram article from April 19th. In it they say:
“The Dallas Arboretum will host its Window to the Wild Bird Show at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, but the real draw for families will come on Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, arboretum staff will host outdoor workshops for children to learn more about the planet and learn what it takes to take care of it.
Visitors can also stop by the main garden to check out Artscape, a fine art and fine craft sale featuring at least 85 artists from across the U.S. Live music, concessions and free kids crafts will be available on Saturday and Sunday.”
Or maybe if you’d rather stay indoors, you can try participating in the Don’t Mess with Dallas Trash-Off according to an NBC DFW article from April 19th. In it they say:
“This year, Don’t Mess With Texas is hosting a social media contest in celebration of Earth Day. Contestants can registering for their designated Trash-Off event that can occur between April 1 and April 30. Participants can post photos of themselves at their designated Trash-Off event on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram event using the hashtags #2021TrashOff and #KeepItCleanTX. There will be 10 winners chosen to receive a Don’t Mess With Texas branded Yeti Cooler and stainless steel Yeti Rambler. Contestants can request supplies for their roadside cleanup by filling out a form online. For additional information, visit the Don’t Mess With Texas and the Keep Texas Beautiful websites.”
Earth Day takes place every year on April 22nd.
