Last year, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Dallas Arboretum called off its annual Easter festivities for public safety. This year, with some safety guidelines in place, the festivities have returned according to a Dallas Morning News article from April 3rd. In it they say:

“Hundreds of people dressed in bright pastel colors meandered through the arboretum Saturday, picnicking and taking photos surrounded by the blooming tulips and azaleas. Children with bunny-ear headbands and holiday-themed face paint shouted in jubilation as they ran across fields and rolled down grassy hills.

The arboretum, which traditionally offers Easter events that can accommodate huge crowds, was open at only 50% capacity but it still provided holiday-related activities to give visitors a semblance of pre-pandemic life.”

They aren’t the only ones who’ve thrown together a big Easter Egg Hunt, at least according to Dallas County News’ April 1st article containing a master list of other egg day activities. In it they say:

“The Dallas Center Seasonal Fun Committee will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3 at Heritage Park. The event will feature an egg hunt, visits with the Easter Bunny, hot chocolate, and fun family games. The committee notes that the health and safety of the community is still its priority and masks will continue to be required.”

And before you ask, no, it is not an April Fool’s Day article. There actually is a Dallas Center Seasonal Fun Committee, and they are indeed holing an Easter Egg Hunt.
