Advanced Skin Fitness offers a variety of anti-aging facials for our clients. Two of the most popular medical grade facial treatments are the colloquially known “Vampire Facial” aka micro needling with PRP, and HydraFacial. These two treatments are renowned for their effective and lasting results. However, these two facial treatments are very different from each other and each have their own distinct key features.
Vampire Facial
This facial treatment earned its moniker because a patients own blood is used to extract Platelet Rich Plasma which is then applied to the face after microneedling. This plasma causes a boost the healing process, leading to the formation of new collagen and tightening and brightening the skin for a fresh, youthful look.
Duration:
Vampire Facial treatment may last for 45 minutes to an hour and includes drawing of the patients blood to extract the PRP, a micro needling portion, and then the application of the PRP
Downtime and Recovery
While the treatment usually lasts only for an hour, microneedling is not really a lunch-break facial since the skin can look quite irritated afterward. We recommend going home and resting immediately following treatment. Aftercare instructions will be provided and swelling and redness should subside within 24 hours. Full recovery may take up to a week.
Results:
After recovery, you’ll notice a natural radiance. Any pits and acne scars will be dramatically reduced, pore size will appear smaller and the appearance of wrinkles will be reduced. This is a dramatic facial with clear results.
HydraFacial
As the name suggests, HydraFacial is a facial treatment that emphasizes hydration. It includes deep cleansing, exfoliating and extracting of the uppermost dead skin layer using a technology called Vortex Suction ™. This vacuum suction device both exfoliates, sucks debris from deep in pores, and deeply infuses various serums at the same time. The facial includes a mild acid peel which is exfoliated away during treatment. This that will intensify a glowing and radiant skin.
Duration
HydraFacial treatments are very convenient as they are quick and effective. These treatments usually last about half an hour which enables you to immediately carry on with their day.
Downtime
A notable feature of HydraFacial is that there is no downtime after the treatment. Results are immediately visible and patients may leave and resume their day.
Recovery
Consequently, there is also no recovery time in HydraFacial since it does not require one. While there might be immediate slight redness on the skin, this usually subsides in a matter of minutes after the treatment.
Results
After a successful treatment, the skin not only becomes radiant but also rejuvenated. The skin immediately feels softer and firmer. Additionally, the skin becomes free from early signs of aging, acne, large pores and even hyperpigmentation. However, it is important to remember that multiple sessions of HydraFacial treatment are required for long term results.
Vampire Facial or HydraFacial?
Getting the proper treatment depends on your desired results. If you want a deep tissue healing and recovery for collagen production and skin remodeling, then the Vampire Facial is the answer, thanks to the Platelet Rich Plasma that promotes the growth collagen. On the other hand, if you want a quick refresh, and deep hydration to get glowing skin, then HydraFacial is the right treatment.
