Martin House Brewing is known for pulling off crazy but delightful flavors of food and beers but this time, they will take it to the next level by making beer out of hotdog water according to a WFAA article from June 27. They say,
“Fort Worth-based Martin House Brewing Company is launching the new flavor at Glizzy Fest, an event honoring the American favorite. If you’re wondering what a “glizzy” is, it’s slang for a hot dog.
The Awesome Sauce: Bun Length Hot Dog Water Seltzer will be 5.2% ABV.
The brewery is behind other unique flavors such as the Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer, Murph Juice, a BBQ sauce beer, Buffalo Wangz, a buffalo wing sauce sour beer, and even an “Elf”-themed beer brewed with spaghetti, syrup and M&Ms.”
This new hotdog flavored beer is just in time for Martin House Brewing’s next big event called the Glizzy Fest according to a Star Telegram article from June 30 which reports,
“The seltzer is tied to the brewery’s “Glizzy Fest” event next month that is all about celebrating the iconic American food. A “glizzy” is slang for a hot dog, made popular by social media jokes over the past few years.
Martin House is hosting “Glizzy Fest” in its backyard on July 16 from noon to 5 p.m. at 220 S. Sylvania Ave. unit 209.
Festivities at the event include a John Cougar Mellencamp cover band, two hot dog and one sausage/barbecue food trucks, a hot dog eating contest, craft vendors and, of course, the launch of the hot dog water seltzer. The brewery will have 25 beers on tap, including Martin House’s “Best Maid Pickle Mustard” beer. Admission to the event is free and the brewery is selling $15 wristbands at the door that will get you a souvenir “suckin on chili dogs” glass and four pours of beer or seltzer.
Just recently, Martin House Brewing’s Murph Juice, a barbecue-flavored beer, was their recent brainchild innovation and it was indeed a crazy and delicious craft beer.
